Ego walks into the police station "I'm here to see the prisoner Miss Sophie Abubakar" "This way, madam" a police office takes her to the waiting room "She will be with you in a minute" she sits, Sophie comes in with handcuffs, a police man is behind her "I'll be damned" she said as she sits "This is no time to lay curses, Dami, or Sophie, but i still prefer Dami" Ego said "you sure did, so you could boss her around well, Sophie is the boss" she said "At least Dami had a conscience, if only you can let her be alive in you, you would be a better person" "What do you want? Have you deviated from being a love doctor, to my personal shrink?" Sophie said "Kachi came to see me, at the hospital,with all he said, I decided to come and take a good look at the face of a girl that threw her life away, now you are facing charges of attempted arson, possession of unauthorized arms, attempted murder, what were you thinking? "I don't bloody care, I'm on everyone's lips, or I'm i not?" "Do you even think of your mother? How ashamed she is to be out in the public, get her life back? Impossible" Ego said "Before you two start, how about Dave Mandy" Tamuno said "I knew that was coming, he is good, we are good" Mandy said "Hmm, we? I never knew that word exists in your vocabulary" Simi said "She has found love, hope not in a hopeless place" Ego said "Really? Tamuno how is Evan, has he called you since the last time he did and you sent him almost half of your salary?" Mandy said "Hey? We brought plus ones" Simi said, Tamuno looks out to find Deji and Dave outside "Why I'm I single again?" "You are not, distance" Mandy said "Alright, let's go". They all go to Ego's ward, she is already dressed, her hand is bandaged "Wow, i didn't know there is a party" Ego said, Tamuno takes the wheel chair to where she is "Hospital policy, we have to carry you" "No, No, No, i want to walk, I was wheeled into this place, don't want to be wheeled out, please" Ego said "Alright then" they all walk out of the hospital, the press and a lot of Ego's colleagues are outside cheering for her "Miss Geoffrey, how do you feel being the hero that saved your colleagues" a member of the press asks her "I wouldn't have done it without their help, i put them in the line of fire, and I wasn't the only one that got shot, but I'm happy we all made it, thank you" she goes over to where everyone is, hugging them, Wale is on the wheelchair, his wife and son is standing beside him, everyone is happy and grateful for standing together in one piece, savouring every moment, giving all glory to God. .................................................................... Ego is lying in the hospital bed, busy with her phone when Tamuno walks in "You are not supposed to hold that, you should be sleeping" "Just a couple of pings, emails, messages, ignoring the press, will turn it off" Ego said, Mandy and Simi walks in "Did you ever think you are bullet proof or Clark Kent?" Mandy said "Mandy, a little pity please" Simi said "Don't worry Simi, I'm used to that" Ego said "So that means, you will be used to this" she squeeze her bandaged hand "Aww, witch, I was shot" Ego screams "Seriously, the both of you need to stop with the cat fight" Tamuno said "Dr Sani, when do I get to leave this place?" "Couple of days, we don't really have to hold you if you are well and hearty" "Thank God" Ego said "Well, technically, someone left out that she got something new" Simi said, they all stare at Mandy "What? Me? Hell nah! He is just a friend" Mandy said "I'm kinda lost here, too much anastethic almost everyday" Tamuno said "She has been seeing Dave" Simi said "You mean the guy that wooed her the other day, Oh my God! He said "That's because, the young lady holding them hostage, is my daughter, I will need to talk to her". .................................................................... Sophie picks up the phone "Is everything I asked for ready?" "Sophie, its mummy, you have to stop" "Mother? What are you doing" Sophie said "It is all over the news, you didn't tell me you work here, why?" "Because you would stop me from the beginning" she said "wouldn't it have been better, you have a gun, you have hostages, i didn't raise you to be like this, whatever happened is Kachi's fault you don't have to take it out on everyone". The hostages are coming out of the building, each one runs to their loved ones, friends and family, Wale comes out assisted by a worker, his wife rushes to his side "I'm so sorry, i have a lot to tell you" he said "It is okay, you are alive that's all that matters" she said, Mandy and the rest search the crowd for Ego, she soon comes out with Beenie, bleeding on her shoulder, they all rush to her "I'm fine, I'm okay, we are all okay" Sophie is on a stretcher, her mother rushes out to meet her, but the police prevents her "She is in our custody now madam, you will have to wait" she falls to the floor and cries, but no one goes to console her, no one wants to be near the mother of the psycho. ................................................................... John Billings once wrote "There is no revenge so complete as forgiveness" letting things go is the best way to move on, the more you to find faults, it doesn't help the situation. The entire police squad, the press, family and friends of the hostages are outside, Mandy, Tamuno and Simi decide to walk up to the Inspector "Well, good evening ladies" "Any news yet?" Simi said "We are trying our best to get everyone out, safely, please just remain calm" he said "Well you had better hurry" Tamuno said "But what sort of psycho has a problem with a paper really, absurd" Mandy said "Ladies, as you can see, i have a lot to do, so if you will excuse me" he leaves "Oh my God, i really wonder what is going on, just like white blood cells and a disease, it is either the disease or the cells" Tamuno said "Really? Here?" Mandy said "Well, let's just hope it is the white blood cells" Simi said. Deji walks up to them "Well, I've done some sneaking around and eavesdropping, everyone in there is accounted for except Ego" "What? Where else will she be? She is not home" Simi said "Let's hope she has run off with the man of her dreams" Mandy said. .................................................................... Ego wakes up to find herself still in the room "Oh Lord, so this is not heaven then or hell" she check her phone, still no service, she kicks the door severally but to no avail "How will i get out of this silly room, the only thing here is stupid bleach that causes rust" she thinks for a while "Wait? Bleach that causes rust, didn't like Chemistry class but that doesn't mean i didn't listen" she removes her singlet then uses it to tie her nose, she mixes some bleach together using a can "But it needs a catalyst" she sights the fire extinguisher at the other end, she takes it, pours the bleach on the door handle, then sprays the fire extinguisher on it, she uses the can to hit on the door severally with all her strength, finally the door gives way. .................................................................... No matter what phase we are in our life, we should always remember their is a light at the end of the tunnel, and never joke with your studies, you never know what subject might come in handy (laughs).
