Simi comes into the hospital "Are you miss Adeniyi" a nurse say to her "Yes" "I need you to come with me, the patient Kate wants to see you" Simi comes along with her, they enter the ward, Kate is lying down on the bed, she is weak "You may leave us alone" she said to the nurse who leaves "I'm glad you are awake now, how are you?" Simi said to her keeping her distance "I'm fine now, you don't need to keep your distance, i don't bite" Simi goes closer and sits down beside her "I know you are shocked that i want to see you, but when i heard you saved my life, i felt like a fool, you know when i cut myself with the knife, my life flashed right before my eyes, then i realized i made the worse mistake, i wished i could stop the bleeding before i passed out, Deji doesn't need me, i hurt him, that's why i want you to take care of him, he deserves the best" she said with tears in her eyes "What about you?" Simi is in her house trying to put some things in order when her phone rings "Hello....yeah, tell the customer that i can't make it today, I will see her tomorrow, alright, thanks" she hangs up "Oh God, what is happening, everything is just never right, when i feel I'm close, i get tossed back to nothing, had a good thing going with Ejiro, he messed up, now when i thought i could give Deji a chance, this messed it up, maybe I'm not meant for this love" her phone rings interupting her thoughts "Hello, Deji" "Simi please I need you to come to the hospital, will you do that for me" he said "Sure, I'm on my way" .................................................................... She arrived the hospital to find Deji sitting in the lobby "Hi" she said as she sits near him "I'm glad you came" he said "How is she" "Still in coma, I'm so grateful, i don't know what would have happened if you didn't see her on time" "We don't pray for that, we just hope she comes out of coma very soon" she said "I know you have lots of questions, on why she still had my key, sometimes i forget crucial things, maybe if i changed the locks..." Ego said "None that i know of, we need to have a close talk with Mr Peter, before firing him" Beenie said "You want to fire him?" "Yes, so he won't have the opportunity to keep playing his tricks" .................................................................... "Oh sorry, Deji's ex girlfriend" Simi said "Oh, that is true, why will she do such?" "I saw this note" Simi shows her the note "I rather die than see you in the arms of another, I will always love you till we meet again" she reads it out "Simi? She is ready to kill herself? For a guy? She definitely has a dysfunctional medulla, is she high on adrenaline?" "Tamuno, please not now, this is serious" a police man walks up to them "please sorry for interrupting, i was told you made the call that brought her in" he said to Simi "Yes I did" "So what is your relationship with her" "None, I came over to the house and I saw her in that state" Simi said, Deji rushed in immediately "Oh my God, what happened Simi, is it true, what you said over the phone? Deji said almost breathless "Yes, they have her in the I.C.U, she lost a lot of blood" "Sir, are you the owner of the house she was found? Kate" she feels her pulse, it is weak and unsteady, there is a note on the bed "I rather die, than see you in the arms of another, I will always love you, till we meet again, Kate" Oh no! This is not happening" she picks her phone " hello, i need an ambulance, attempted suicide,5 Adeyemo Alakija street, Victoria Island, you need to hurry please" Simi hangs up, she ties Kate's hands to stop the bleeding, and put pressure on the cut "Hang in there, you will be okay, i promise, hang on". ......................................................................................... Some times we are so hell bent that we let our life hang on a thread, it is a gift, never take it for granted, one question, will you die for love? Remember life is practical not logical. Are you fricking kidding me! The girls are in Tamuno's house, having their usual night out " So when she called her Oluwabolaji, i was like WTF!!" Mandy walks into the kitchen to make herself a cup of coffee, only to find her mum searching the place "Well, good morning, mother and what is going on?" Mandy said "This your kitchen just dey empty, na only coffee you get? Wetin you go chop this morning?" Her mother said "Well, I will fry myself some prawn crackers and take it with my coffee, problem solved, hope you will love it" Mandy said "Eh? Praw wetin? So na wetin you dey do eh? Oluwabolaji, you just dey starve yourself, see as you dey like lepa, you no fit chop wetin go give you body and energy" she said "Look, you are driving me nuts, okay, what do you want to eat?" "I wan chop banga soup with correct catfish and semo, na wetin dey hungry me" she said "Okay, dress up, we are going out" Mandy said "Eh, you want make I chop outside? Why you no wan cook am?" "I can't cook the soup, if you want to eat, you have to eat outside" Mandy said "Hey! Epa mi o, so na how Joseph train you? He come spoil you finish, big girl like you, simple banga dey hard you, Olorunmaje....me wey be Charity your mother you no dey do like me at all, i sabi cook everything" "Please, that's enough, if you want to eat, you come along or else no food for you, end of story" Mandy said as she left the kitchen ............................................................................. Happy New Month dear readers, I wish you all great and abundant blessings. I'm thrilled to take you on this exciting journey down the memory lane of Lame Red. So pull up a chair, it is going to be a fun roller coaster. ******************************* Episode one started with us getting to know the main characters of the book, and in the long run, we witnessed the dissapointment Simi had, when she found out that the guy she has been with for nine years, is HIV/AIDS positive, not just on her wedding day, but at the altar. We met the character of Chief Dede Badmus, a child trafficker and we later met his demise, which also left a trail of unanswered questions behind. We also met Deji who got under Simi's radar. Well, the question is, what more will we meet, questions or answers? How close are we to what really happened to Chief Dede Badmus? Is the connection between Simi and Deji going to end well or bad?
